Forest Eye Up Imrie

The Reds’ were linked with the Clyde hitman in the summer and Calderwood has been a long admirer of the former Lanark United striker. According to the Clyde official site , he will come to the City Ground for a three day trial, with a view to signing a permanent deal in January if all goes well.

Imrie will be a free agent in June when his contract comes to an end, but could command a fee if he is signed in the January transfer window. Clyde have said they will not stand in his way and respect his desire to play in England.

Imrie can play anywhere on the left side of the park and could be seen as someone who could put pressure on Commons for his place. Equally he can play as a striker and could be the answer to any potential problems in that department, especially as Agogo is off to the ACON.

So far this season he has scored 3 in 16 starts for the Scottish League 1 side. He’s highly thought of at the club and has the nickname of ‘Animal.’

In his club profile he is described as, ‘a live wire attacker with an eye for goal who can also play on the wing. His pace and strength are his main attributes along with an extraordinary appetite for the game. He simply does not believe in lost causes and has become a great favourite of the fans who relish his effort, skill and goalscoring ability. Imrie has already demonstrated his knack of scoring the simple tap in along with the utterly spectacular. Just two years ago Dougie was playing Junior football for Lanark United but now is a threat to any First Division defence.’ Sounds OK to me.
