Unlike previous January transfer windows at Nottingham Forest, this one is set to be a fruitful and productive one for the club.

We believe business will be concluded swiftly and that deals are already in place to make permanent the services of on loan signings Radoslaw Majewski (£1.5m) and Nicky Shorey (£1.4m).

Gareth Bale at Spurs also looks set to become a Red in January, despite speculation of interest from Inter Milan (yes, I know) and Birmingham. The Blues of Brum were looking favourites to sign Bale, but they have been unable to come up with the necessary funds. The deal as we know it, is for him to come on loan for the rest of the season and if it works out (we get promotion) a fee of £3.5m has been agreed between the two clubs.

Forest are continuing their pursuit of Michael Dawson, but the issue of wages is proving a stumbling block, which makes a move unlikely. With that in mind, Forest have turned their interest to Matthew Kilgallon at Sheffield United. The 25 year old cost the Blades £2m back in 2007 and wont be leaving for less. He was last seasons Player of the Year and is out of contract in the summer. Sheffield United are resigned to losing Kilgallon in January and a move to Newcastle was on the cards, but they are facing the same problem as many clubs at present, in that they have to off load first before they sign.

Forest clearly mean business this season and unlike previous years, are not afraid to spend the cash. It really looks like the club are going for it this time and that Chairman Nigel Doughty, finally has a man he can trust and is backing him all the way.
