Forest Down To The Bare Bones

Injury problems look to be exposing the frailties of having such a small squad for Nottingham Forest, with assistant manager Ned Kelly saying he may have only 19 fit players to select from for the game at the City Ground tonight against managerless Middlesbrough.

Kelly told the official site that we ‘could be a little short up front,’ with news that Nathan Tyson will be missing from action with a knee injury and that Dele Adebola could be out as well with a back problem. Robert Earnshaw is definitely ruled out, as he has an ongoing problem with his thigh that has forced him to miss the last 4 games.

Adebola sounded confident after the defeat at Barnsley of making the game with ‘Boro, but the news from Kelly doesn’t sound quite so optimistic. Kelly also said it was unlikely that Billy Davies will have recovered in time from his viral infection, that forced him to miss the game at Oakwell on Saturday.

Forest now have only 2 fit strikers to pick from, with Blackstock and McGoldrick the only options. Fans are bemused to say the least at the clubs’ none activity in the transfer market and their failure/refusal to sign anyone. Will this now force the club into bringing anyone in? Answers on a postcard please.
