Joe Worrall is “keen” on linking up with manager Steven Gerrard at Rangers, according to the Football Insider.

The Scottish club have reportedly offered a sizeable loan fee to bring in the 21-year-old for the rest of the season.

However, it seems we have some major reservations about Worrall moving North of the border. It appears the club would prefer him to remain in the Championship to gain more first-team experience.

Ipswich are said to be the club likeliest to rival Rangers for the centre-back and it will be interesting to see where he ends up by September 1st.

Considering the poor defensive showing against Birmingham at the weekend, I am sure I’m not the only one thinking that keeping the defender may be a wise decision.

Yet, it seems that Worrall remains far away from Aitor Karanka’s first team plans, after failing to make the squad again on Saturday. It looks more likely than not that he’ll be loaned out.
