It is hardly a surprise, Chris Cohen made it quite clear he was staying with Nottingham Forest whatever happened against Ipswich, but it’s now official, a new one year contract has been signed.

Cohen, signed from Yeovil in 2007, when Forest were last in League 1, thankfully a level the win over Ipswich spared us retuning too, has extended his decade-long stay at the City Ground into next season.

There couldn’t have been a better way for Cohen, 30, to mark his 300th appearance for the club could there? He was among the goalscorers in Sunday’s 3-0 win at the City Ground to preserve Forest’s second tier status.

He’ll now, presumably, captain Forest next season when MUCH bigger and better things will be expected under Mark Warburton, it’ll also be a season where Cohen will hope to have more luck on the injury front, which has probably cost him an extra 100 games for the Reds?
