Although on paper it looked a mere formality, Nottingham Forest had to attend a hearing yesterday to prove that US international striker Robbie Findley was eligible for a work permit.

Fortunately for Findley and Nottingham Forest, the permit was granted and once the former Real Salt Lake player obtains a visa, the deal will be complete.

He’s been training with the Reds’ for the past month after becoming a free agent. At one point it looked like he was joining Prem boys Wolves, but Forest stepped in to secure his signature. He’s 25 years of age and played in 3 out of 4 of the USA’s World Cup games earlier this year, including the one against England. Welcome to the City Ground Robbie Findley.
