Farewell To Konchesky

Paul Konchesky will play his final game for the Reds’ on Saturday, when they take on Scunthorpe United at the City Ground.

Konchesky arrived at the club, as a 93 day emergency loan signing from Liverpool and his loan period expires after the game with the Iron.

He’s made 14 appearances for us since joining at the end of January, scoring one goal. He scored a vital goal in the 2-2 draw with Preston back in February and has been an integral part of the side since. He also picked up 5 yellow cards and earned a red in the 2-1 defeat at Norwich a fortnight ago.

The departure of Konchesky means that once again, Forest are left short in the left back department and will be reliant on Joel Lynch, who isn’t 100% fit yet and Julian Bennett, who has hardly had any game time since returning from injury and a loan spell at Crystal Palace.

It doesn’t look as though a permanent deal for Konchesky will be happening at the City Ground, but it is rumoured that he will return to his former club Fulham in the summer. That should at least please his Mum.
