I think the best way to describe that game was ‘getting away with it’.
Nottingham Forest managed to sign off the year with, well not so much a bang, but at least it was something positive to take away, having gone through a rather disastrous spell in the run-up to Christmas, although things were rather close to going the other way.
If you look at the statistics from the game, they were very much second best, losing 64% to 36% in terms of possession, 14 to 9 in terms of total shots, 4 to 2 with shots on target and 13 corners to 2 against Wigan Athletic.
And I think that relief was very much the feeling among the Nottingham Forest faithful after the game today, with many of them of the belief that they were incredibly lucky to get a result out of the game. At the end of the day though, does it really matter how you win, just so long as you get the three points?
We were poor, but I don't care, up to 5th with a game in hand. let's go!

We won, but that was far from convincing.

Great result…shocking performance

Not quite sure how we won that as we was shocking all game. Somehow we find ourselves in 5th but things need to improve big time or we will drop down the table in no time if we continue to play like that. Still not totally convinced Sabri is the right man.

The sooner we accept we are a fairly average team in an inflated position, expectations may become more realistic. Might help if Sabri sets up to win a game at home rather than not lose to bottom of the league

Very lucky today but will take the 3 points

Best teams are those that play badly and still win. We move on to next game.

Technically I suppose it does, as I’ve called for the team to be more aggressive this season. But if we can get away with results like that, I think I can let it all slide.
