Fans let down – Again!

It?s starting to get more than a little embarrassing now, another away match another defeat. Fair enough Forest seemed to have battled back to almost snatch a point at the death only to fall to pieces again, but it?s the manner of this latest defeat that will anger Forest fans the most.

Perhaps the best way to dissect this game is to simply say it was a slight improvement on the usual away day dross suffered by the fantastic away support. Forest at least seemed to play with a bit of commitment and determination, but after that you have to start asking questions of both the Manager and his players.
The facts were Forest fell behind on 70min when after Holt appeared to be fouled Neil Danns slipped Breckin all too easily and beat Gerrard from outside the area, that pretty much was that or so we thought until Tyson (again looking like Forest?s only real threat) broke the offside trap and finished clinically in the 90th min to the delight of the Forest fans. Then in injury time Forest pressed self destruct, first allowing Yeates to score less than a minute after Tyson had netted and as they pushed up looking for a second equaliser Garcia broke free and put the game to bed.

Weather or not you blame the Manager or the players this is simply not good enough, for the squad Forest have, at least on paper, to have taken only 5 points from a possible 33 this season is nothing short of a disgrace.
Away form at this rate is going to cost Forest promotion and on today?s display little has changed, why Megson insists on sending out such a negative team with negative tactics is beyond many fans, Yes, there have been injuries to key players, Yes, sides do see Forest as their Cup Final but why Megson A- Didn?t bring in creativity in the summer or on loan, and B ? Point blank refuses to utilise Jack Lester in a midfield role are reasons why yet again chants of ?Megson Out? were heard from the travelling Forest faithful.

Forest today as usual struggled to create many chances, Taylor heading wide from a Commons corner the closest they came in the first half. At least for most of the game Forest looked tighter at the back and were limiting Colchester?s efforts on goal. The problem again from Forest was apart from Commons, who is still striving for match fitness there was no other player on the pitch capable of engineering chances for Taylor and Tyson. Tyson again looked lively but Forest just can?t get him the service, midfield bar Commons seem to be only able to play sideways passes, Tyson showing what he can do, 1 chance 1 goal. If Megson cannot find that spark in January you have to say it looks like another year in the doldrums for the former European Champions.

If it?s the players you prefer to blame, then these simple errors have to be cut out, lapses in concentration, poor tackling and a sense of adventure were all contributing factors again today. In defence of Megson some of his signings often fail to play to their potential, Breckin, Eaden and Holt you would all expect more from especially away from home.
Breckin allowed Danns to turn him on the edge of the area far too easily today for the first Colchester goal and seems to switch off at certain points in a match. Eaden has steadied after a poor start but Megson must be concerned that Eaden isn?t producing the form that helped Wigan into the Premiership last season. As for Holt, Louis-jean and Paul Evans now seem to be better options than the former Premiership player.
There needs to be changes, its as simple as that.

So another away defeat, another typical away defeat, this must not be allowed to continue, lets all hope Megson can find his saviour in the Transfer window and the tremendous away support at last get to travel home with something to show for their misplaced loyalty
