Liam Bridcutt fractured his collarbone for Bolton Wanderers in Monday’s 0-0 draw with Blackpool and could be out of action for a long time. The 30-year-old may have played his last game for Bolton as his loan spell finishes in January 2020.

It can take up to eight weeks to recover from a broken collarbone and another eight weeks to restore full strength to the shoulder which would rule Bridcutt out of action for nearly four months. The midfielder’s loan deal at Bolton ends on January 5, so Monday’s outing may have been his last.

It would be a sad way to end a successful stint at the Macron Stadium as Bridcutt impressed before his injury. As per WhoScored, the Scotland international made five league appearances, won 15 aerial duels (79%), 10 successful dribbles (83%) and averaged 56 passes-per-game.

Bridcutt made 10 clearances, created three chances and has averaged a tackle (23) or interception (9) every 12 minutes. In his last five games, Bolton have picked up four draws and conceded just three goals for their troubles. The Trotters next face Burton Albion on Saturday.

Wanderers remain rock-bottom in League One with -8 points from 10 games, but they’ve only lost one of their last four.
