Nottingham Forest have endured somewhat of an injury crisis this season but could welcome back a number of first-team players ahead of Sunday’s trip to face Wigan Athletic. So, who’s expected to return after the international break?

Michael Dawson

Sabri Lamouchi said earlier this month that Dawson will return in time to face Wigan. The 35-year-old has been out of action with a calf injury since late-September but should be training in the week leading up to Sunday’s meeting with Wigan.

Alfa Semedo

The 22-year-old picked up a knock against Barnsley (September 21) but could be returning after a month out. Semedo has missed three league games for Forest, but Lamouchi hinted he’ll have recovered over the international break, saying: “Before the international break it would be stupid to take a risk.”

Ryan Yates

Lamouchi said “for sure” that Yates will be back for Sunday’s clash. The 21-year-old hasn’t played a single minute of football this season due to a knee injury that required surgery, but he could be making his long awaited return against the Latics. He’ll be short of match fitness, so a place on the bench may be on the cards.
