Michael Dawson didn’t make the matchday squad in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic, but the 35-year-old is expected to return to training this week. Whether he will be available to face Hull City on Wednesday remains to be seen.

Dawson has missed Forest’s last three Championship games due to a calf injury and hasn’t featured since September 27th. The centre-back’s last outing came against Stoke City, but he was withdrawn in the first-half after picking up the knock.

He’s yet to play a single minute of football in October but should be back before the month ends. Sabri Lamouchi was hoping to have Dawson available by now, but his recovery is taking longer than anticipated.

Joe Worrall has partnered Tobias Figueiredo and Chema Rodriguez in his absence, but Dawson will be missed – the veteran has made nine league appearances this season and conceded only eight goals.

Forest can’t afford another slip-up without him on Wednesday. The Reds welcome Hull to the City Ground and boast three wins from their last four on home soil while the visitors have managed just one win away.
