Nottingham Forest confirmed on May 18 that their Greece pre-season training camp for the 2019/20 season will begin on Friday, July 12 until Wednesday, July 17. The Reds will tour the country over five days, playing friendlies against Atromitos (Juy 13) at the Peristeri Stadium and Olympiacos (July 16) at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

They fly to Greece on Friday and will return to Nottingham on Wednesday. Forest’s 2019/20 fixture list will be released around a similar time too, the club announced on Twitter. The Reds’ first game of their Greek tour will begin on Saturday, July 13 until Tuesday, July 16.

A week before their tour of Greece starts, Forest will spend a week in Alicante, Spain. The Reds will face Dundee on Tuesday, July 2 and Peterborough United on Saturday, July 6.

After the Spanish and Greek tours, Forest will host Crystal Palace at the City Ground on Friday, July 19. Four days later, they’ll travel to the One Call Stadium to face Mansfield Town on Tuesday, July 23. On Friday, July 26, Real Sociedad come to the City Ground, before a trip to Sincil Bank to face Lincoln City on Monday, July 29 wraps up the pre-season friendlies.

Good preparations are vital this summer as Forest need to hit the ground running after a disappointing second-half of the 2018/19 season. Martin O’Neill’s men finished ninth in the Championship, three places and eight points adrift of the playoffs.

In 2019, Forest won nine games from 21, picking up 30 points. Their aim next season is to earn promotion to the Premier League after more than 20 years in the second tier.
