Jason Cummings is expected to leave Nottingham Forest this summer after struggling for form and playing time, and being left out of the pre-season squad. Since joining the Reds from Hibernian in 2017, the 23-year-old has made just 17 appearances in all competitions, amassing a paltry 877 minutes of football.

Cummings’ lack of playing time at Forest has led to stints at Rangers (January 15, 2018 – May 14, 2018), Peterborough United (July 13, 2018 – January 30, 2019), and Luton Town (January 31, 2019 – May 31, 2019), but his stock has fallen even further after below-par performances.

The Scotland international scored only two league goals in 15 games for Rangers, endured a three-month goal-drought at Peterborough and scored just once at Luton. Cummings didn’t have a lot of interest at the end of the season, but Louie Chandler of Football League World says clubs from the Scottish Premiership and English League One are now keen on his signature.

Sabri Lamouchi has Lewis Grabban, Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker to choose from next season which doesn’t bode well for Cummings’ chances of playing.

Apostolos Vellios, Hillal Soudani and Karim Ansarifard have all been shown the exit door, and the 23-year-old could follow. Cummings is in the final year of his deal at the City Ground, but Forest may want to cash in sooner.
