With Joe Lolley having an uncertain future at the City Ground and Martin O’Neill being short on natural width in the side, Nottingham Forest turned their attention to Kamil Grosicki and were linked with a £2.5m move for the Hull City winger.

Their pursuit for the 30-year-old has been delayed, however, with Grosicki revealing his intentions to play two more internationals for Poland and have a long holiday until July. He told Polish media outlet PolsatSport via Nottinghamshire Live that he wouldn’t be clarifying his future at the KCOM until he returned in around five weeks.

Grosicki said: “I am on holiday until July 5th, so that’s a long of time. For sure, I want to play these two matches and then go on a real holiday to relax. I just had some vacation, but with two difficult games ahead of me, I had to keep on form all the time.”

Poland have Euro 2020 qualifiers to come against North Macedonia (June 7) and Israel (June 10). After that, Grosicki will take a well-earned break before deciding the next step in his career. The winger is coming off the back of an impressive Championship campaign, scoring and creating 21 goals in 39 games, but his future may lie away from Hull.

Grosicki has one year left on his contract with the Tigers and could be inundated with offers from other clubs when he returns form his holiday that may give him pause for thought. The Polish international has spent two-and-a-half years at City and want a fresh challenge after finishing 13th last season.
