According to Le Parisien (h/t Nottinghamshire Live), Nottingham Forest have competition from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Olympique Lyonnais and AS Saint-Etienne for Silas Wamangituka’s signature. The 19-year-old has scored eight goals in 24 Ligue 2 games this season and could be on the move in the coming months.

Forest were linked with Wamangituka in January and are said to have scouted him throughout the season, but he won’t come cheap. The striker is believed to have an asking price of £4.3m and currently earns around £62k-a-year/£1.2k-per-week, according to FIFA.

Whether he’d improve Martin O’Neill’s squad remains to be seen, however, as the French second division doesn’t compare to the Championship.

The Reds currently have Lewis Grabban, Karim Ansarifard, Leo Bonatini and Daryl Murphy to pick from in attack, all of whom are likely to be ahead of the teenager in the pecking order. With Tyler Walker set to return from a loan spell at Mansfield Town this summer, he stands a chance of breaking into the first-team and would be added competition for Wamangituka.

There may not be room for the DR Congo forward, so it’s hard to see the Midlands club spending more than £4m on his signature this summer.
