Explained: Nottingham Forest injury update ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Bristol City

|

Nottingham Forest travel to face Bristol City on Saturday, but which players could Sabri Lamouchi be without ahead of the Reds’ weekend clash?

Tendayi Darikwa has been ruled out until 2020 after rupturing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament. The 27-year-old picked up the injury in pre-season and isn’t expected to return for another three months.

Michael Dawson returned to training before the international break and made the matchday squad in Forest’s 1-0 win over Derby County (November 10). He’s in contention of starting against City.

Yohan Benalouane and Michael Hefele also returned to training before the international break, but the pair are likely to be short of match fitness as they’ve not played a single minute of football this season.

Alfa Semedo has been out of action for two months after picking up a back injury in training, but the 22-year-old has been tipped to return after the international break. Whether Semedo is fit enough to make the matchday squad on Saturday remains to be seen, however.

Carl Jenkinson has been sidelined with an ankle injury since late-August, but he’s close to returning for Forest. The 27-year-old is back running and could be back “in a few weeks”, according to Lamouchi.
