Jorge Grant has an uncertain future at Nottingham Forest after his failed loan spell at Mansfield Town. The 24-year-old joined the Stags in January until the end of the season but has struggled for form at Field Mill and may find his career at a crossroads when he leaves Mansfield in May.

Grant has made 16 appearances for Town this season, scoring four goals and making three assists. The wide-man’s last goal came against Macclesfield Town on February 2 and his last assist was on March 18. Supporters have been frustrated with his performances and want to see the back of him at Mansfield.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his contract with Forest, but it’s hard to see him having a future in the East Midlands. Grant joined the Reds from the Nike Academy in 2013 but has made just 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating three goals.

Grant’s last outing for Forest came against Wolverhampton Wanderers on December 17, 2016. He’s been loaned out to Notts County (January 31, 2017 – May 31, 2018), Luton Town (July 6, 2018 – January 7, 2019) and Mansfield (January 14, 2019 – present).

  • A few negative comments from a few keyboard warriors & he’s written off! Thank heavens they don’t make the decisions. 16 appearances; 4 goals & 3 assists; not a bad return for a loan player.

  • Grant was MotM in hist first two appearances, but has been mostly poor since, but then again a lot of Stags players haven’t matched their 2018 form in 2019. His last two appearances have been a bit better and the criticism in this article is a bit over the top, but has has been fairly disappointing. I’d take him again next season though, he clearly has great skill, it just hasn’t quite worked since January for him for some reason.
