Explained: How have Nottingham Forest fared in pre-season under Sabri Lamouchi?

Nottingham Forest have played in six exhibition matches this summer, but how have Sabri Lamouchi’s men performed in the past few weeks?

Forest’s first pre-season fixture was against Alfreton Town on June 29. The Reds won 2-1 at The Impact Arena, courtesy of goals from Brennan Johnson (39’) and Karim Ansarifard (83’). Their second outing came at home to Dundee on July 2 and resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Forest’s third friendly saw them running out 3-0 winners against Atromitos on July 13. Sammy Ameobi (20’), Michael Dawson (64’) and Joe Lolley (90’) were the goalscorers at the Stadio Peristerious. Their fourth match led to their first defeat of the summer – a 3-0 loss to Olympiacos at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki on July 16.

Forest responded with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on July 19. Albert Adomah (33’) was the matchwinner at the City Ground. The u23s recently played Mansfield Town at Field Mill. Jason Cummings (10’) scored Forest’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat.

The Reds’ first-team played out a 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad on July 26. Joe Worrall (4′) and Lewis Grabban (28′) scored at the City Ground. A Forest XI closed out pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Lincoln City.
