Adlene Guedioura & Karim Ansarifard both left Nottingham Forest for Qatar over the summer, joining Al Gharara & Al Saliya respectively, but how are the pair currently faring in the Stars League?
Guedioura has made five appearances for Gharafa this season, playing a full 90 minutes in their 3-0 win over Al Shahania (August 22), 0-0 draw with Al Rayyan (August 30), 3-1 win over Qatar SC (September 14), 3-1 win over Al Ahli (September 19) and 3-1 defeat to Ansarifard’s Al Saliya (September 28).
The 33-year-old has operated in a deep-lying midfield role for the Cheetahs and has helped them to fourth in the Stars League – 10 points from five games. Gharafa are currently two points adrift of leaders Al Sadd and face Al Wakrah on Wednesday evening.
As for Ansarifard, the 29-year-old has made five appearances for Al Saliya and has scored three goals. He’s featured in Saliya’s 1-1 draw with Al Khor (August 22), 3-0 defeat to Al Ahli (August 31), 1-0 win over Qatar SC (September 20), 3-1 defeat to Al Sadd (September 24) and 3-1 win over Guedioura’s Al Gharafa (September 28).
Saliya are currently sixth in the table with seven points from five games.They next face Al Duhail on Wednesday afternoon.
