With Motherwell confirming the other day that young winger Gboly Ariyibi had headed to them on a loan spell from Nottingham Forest, a number of fans were surprised that we didn’t appear to make our own announcement – furthermore, that it seems the young lad is just never going to get himself going at the City Ground.
The 23-year-old arrived with us on a deal from Chesterfield back in the January 2017 window, but he’s yet to even feature once in our shirt. He has instead spent time out on loan with both MK Dons and Northampton Town since then, with the American having both high points and lows.
A fair few Forest fans were still hopeful he might get the chance to impress with us and show that he was capable of kicking on, but it looks increasingly unlikely now he’s headed north of the border into the Scottish Premiership.
Having eventually spotted the news, the reaction was mixed but plenty wished him well once again as he heads off.
This guy is a awesome player.. shame Forest didn’t give him more appearances as he is like John Barnes but better

All the best with your loan move!

I dunno why we don't just release him on a free. He'll never play for us.
