This has been one of the best summers for the club in recent memory. Our transfer business has been tremendous, and our good fortunes continued with a convincing 3-0 triumph against Malaga.
Having won our first game of pre-season against Lincoln Red Imps, we succeeded to record successive victories with an impressive 3-0 win against Malaga.
Naturally, the results are rather inconsequential during pre-season. The priority should be focused on gaining fitness and tactical improvement. That said, victories breed momentum, especially against a team of Malaga’s standing.
Here’s how Forest supporters responded to the victory on Twitter.
Very encouraging performance from front to back. Lam and Ahmedhozic looked very good together at the back. Good to see Lam being given a second chance. Everyone giving it all to come and block shots too. Dias looks next level and Soudani looked beastly. #COYR #NFFC

Good run-out for the Forest lads in Spain. The foundation is there for a solid season in the Championship.

Verdict:
As previously mentioned, it’s important that we don’t overemphasise pre-season victories, but the latest triumph was an impressive display and one that is likely to please supporters and Aitor Karanka.
There is a sincere sense of optimism and a belief that we could return to the top-flight of English football, whisper it quietly, but I’m of the same opinion.
