Nottingham Forest’s Under 23s side have officially been crowned champions of the Premier League’s Professional Development League North division, the club have confirmed.
Managed by former Forest midfielder Chris Cohen, the club’s Under 23s team enjoyed an outstanding season, which has now been rewarded with some well deserved and welcome recognition.
Cohen’s side has been top of their league, six points clear of second-placed Burnley with 14 wins and two defeats from 21 games to their name when the league was postponed in March, before being cancelled altogether in early May.
Now, with the final standings having been ratified on a points-per-game basis in the same way as several of the lower tier’s of English football’s senior divisions, Forest’s Under 23s side can officially say that they are Professional Development League North champions.
Taking to Twitter to react to that news, plenty of Forest fans were keen to pay tribute to that achievement, with some comparing it to the disappointing end to the season endured by the senior side last month.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
