I’d like to think that this is the ‘end of an era’.
But when you’ve only made seven appearances in the space of two seasons, and the majority of them coming in the cup competitions, I don’t know if you should necessarily be given that kind of distinction.
Either way, we won’t be seeing a lot more of goalkeeper Luke Steele around the City Ground any more, as he announced yesterday that his time with the club is over after two years with Nottingham Forest, having initially signed in the summer of 2018 in what he described as a dream move.
Should Forest have given Luke Steele more of a look-in?
Yes
No
However, despite not playing that many games, it seems as though he did a lot to endear himself to the Forest faithful, as they were full of praise for the 35-year-old on social media following the news of his departure.
One of the most popular players with his team mates. 👊🏻 Best wishes for the future. 🙏🏻

Thank you for your service, although it was limited for what are imo unjustified reasons. Theres no doubt you should of been given more league starts. All the best #nffc

Still reckon you were the best keeper on our books. Good luck for the future.

Sadly too many managers who didn’t see what the fans saw and that was you should of been number 1. Good luck on your next move

What about you? Do you think Steele should have played more times for Forest during his time here?
