The East Midlands derby at Pride Park today, between Derby County and Nottingham Forest, has been postponed due to treacherous weather conditions around the ground.

The game was scheduled to KO at 12.15pm and was also to be shown live on BBC1. Although the playing surface was fine, icy conditions and snow on surrounding roads would have made it a safety hazard.

A spokesman for Derby County said. ‘Public safety is of paramount importance and although many of the main roads are now passable the side roads are treacherous and temperatures are not thought to be rising to any great extent to see the conditions improve. We believe this is the right decision.’
