Aitor Karanka was asked whether the club could make a move for Derby striker Cameron Jerome before the window closes tomorrow.

The manager didn’t rule out a loan bid for the 32-year-old, telling the Nottingham Post that he’s always open to the possibility of signing good players:

“Every single good player, until the last moment, if they are available we are open to the idea But if anyone does arrive, they will come into a tight group; they will come into an ambitious group and every single good player is one I like.”

“I know Cameron, I know Jermain Defoe. I know a lot of players. We have to only wait two days.”

Most fans on Twitter were not particularly happy about possibly signing a player from our fierce rivals:

A few thought Jerome could be a useful addition:

It would hardly fill me with confidence if we replace a talented young player like Ben Brereton with a veteran striker like Jerome. If we leave out the fact that he would be coming from Derby, it would mean all three of our strikers would be over 30 years of age.

I know Karanka has been tasked with getting this club out of the Championship, but that sort of transfer policy looks very short-sighted in my opinion. What do you think? Would Jerome be a good signing? Let me know in the poll:
