Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies believes that his young side are capable of taking one of the automatic promotion places, despite WBA and Newcastle being 9 and 10 points ahead of the Reds’ respectively.

Davies has spent most of this campaign telling people that his young guns aren’t quite ready for the rigours of the Premiership just yet, but ahead of tonight’s live televised game against table toppers Newcastle, he says he’s hoping to gatecrash the party.

Davies told the official site.’I’ve said before that the last five or six games will be very interesting and I still believe that. Anything is possible. People have forgotten we went 10 months unbeaten away from home but you are only as good as your last game in this business. People have short memories and you have to accept that.’

A win tonight, will leave the Reds’ just 6 points behind 2nd placed WBA, with 6 games left to play. The Geordies though have a game in hand over both teams below them and remain unbeaten at home. Davies has always maintained that the final run in to the season would have a few twists and turns. Hopefully a win for us tonight will be one of them and we can ruin the party on Tyneside, if only for a couple of weeks.
