Forest manager Billy Davies was philosophical about the clubs’ failure to bring in any new faces during the January transfer window. He blamed inflated prices, as the main reason for not adding to the squad.

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham, Davies said. ‘What you find is inflated prices, you find it very difficult to get things done. We made several attempts and we targeted a number of players, but unfortunately the financial agreements couldn’t be reached.’

It’s thought that we put in offers for Rob Jones at Hibernian, as well as Lee Croft at Norwich, but both bids were turned down. Bristol City also rejected an offer for striker Dele Adebola on deadline day to leave the Reds’ without a single signing during the window. According to Davies, it is now time for everyone to get down to work and aim to ensure our Championship survival. That’s going to be easier said than done, even for Billy Davies.
