Billy Davies answered his critics in the best way possible on Saturday, with a 2-0 away win at Leicester City. It ended a run of 3 games without a win for Forest and even better still, it ended an 8 year winless streak at the King Power Stadium.

Both goals came in the first half and were scored by strikers Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie. The win moves the Reds’ up to 5th in the Championship table, 2 points ahead of 6th placed Reading.

An upbeat Davies told the NFFC official site. ‘That`s what you call an away performance. Coxy and Jamie scored two great goals and we had one or two other very good chances. We knew we had to sit back and contain them because there was no need for us to go on and chase a third. I thought it was a very disciplined performance and every single player put in great effort.’

Forest now go into yet another international break and don’t play again until the meeting at home with Burnley on November 23.
