Forest left St. Andrews last night with their heads held high, after running Prem boys Birmingham City close in the 3rd round FA Cup replay.

The 1-0 defeat belies two great performances from the lads, in which they will feel hard done to in losing out on a 4th round trip to Everton. Hopefully the defeat will have no effects on moral and they can now concentrate on the serious business of the League.

Billy Davies was rightly feeling that his side had done enough in both games to win the tie, but was resolute in defeat. Talking to the official site, he said. ‘We have to be more clinical, we had too many shots that didn’t make the target. It is all about scoring and when you are up against the in-form side in the Premiership, when you get the chances you have to take them. But I am disappointed for the players tonight, they deserved to get more from the game.’

This was the first defeat in 18 games for the Reds’ and ends a great run of form that has seen us climb up into an automatic promotion spot in the Championship. They now get the chance to go on another run, with the visit of Reading to the City Ground on Saturday.
