The return to full fitness of Arron Davies has been eagerly awaited by Forest fans since he picked up a stress fracture in pre season against Motherwell. Since then fans have been drip fed information by the club as regards his progress, but now they say he’s earmarked for a game in the reserves next Tuesday against Shrewsbury.

Fans remember only too well how he tore open the Reds defence in the playoff semi final for Yeovil, but have yet to see him reek the same havoc in a Red shirt. That may not be far away though from what has been said on the official site. According to Calderwood the player has had a good week training and is looking strong. That all bodes well for Forest and supporters alike.

The next big question for CC when Davies is fit, is where to play him. His preferred position is in a wide midfield role, but he has played striker. The midfield at present looks strong and everyone is playing well. It would be hard for Davies to dislodge one of them. The option of playing him as a winger is there for CC and the thought of Forest playing football with two wingers in the side would be interesting to see. Whatever option Calderwood decides to go with will be up to him, but it’s a tough one for him that’s for sure.
