Forest chalked up their 12th consecutive home win last night, in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and equalled a 30 year old club record in doing so.

The last time the Reds’ managed to achieve this, was back in 1980 under the Great Man Brian Clough and it was split over two seasons’. Billy Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham. ‘It’s fantastic, I’m delighted to equal the great Brian Clough’s record. But there’s other things that please me – 18 clean sheets, going 20 undefeated at one point and undefeated for 10 months away from home.’

The season so far has surpassed most fans expectations, in terms of league position and also in the level of performance from the team, but Davies still harbours thoughts of automatic promotion. Last nights win brings us to within 5 points of 2nd placed West Brom and if they fail to win their game at home tonight against Coventry, then those thoughts may resurface amongst the fans as well.

Forest are away to table toppers Newcastle next Monday and their next game at home after that is the televised game with Cardiff on Easter Monday. There’s alot that can happen between now and then….but one thing’s for certain, it wont be dull.
