Billy Davies will be a happy man this morning, following the 2-0 smash and grab raid carried out on Charlton at The Valley yesterday. The three points were gratefully accepted by the manager, but he knows it was a lucky win for the Reds’.

Forest were under pressure for much of yesterdays game, but still managed to come away with the points. The defeat was a severe hammer blow for the Addicks, but it lifted us to 20th in the table and a point clear of the drop zone.

Davies told the official site. ‘We never competed in the first 20 minutes. We gave them too much space and were too hesitant. But the players picked themselves up and the response in the second half was excellent. They put bodies in front of shots and showed great determination.’

Although Billy Boy has only had a week to assess his players, he would have seen enough in this game to have concerns. In his post match comments he highlighted the lack of experience in his young squad as a factor in this performance. Most fans will go along with that assessment. Davies said. ‘The one thing we lack is experience. There was alot of inexperience in giving the ball away. It’s important to have the balance right, so there are things to sort out.’
