The 3-1 defeat at home to to our arch rivals from Sheepsville at the weekend, made it 6 games without a win for Billy Davies and his babes.

Despite the dismal run of results, there’s still no sign of anyone coming in. There wasn’t much the manager could say in his post match interview on BBC Radio Nottingham, but he did admit that they were soundly beaten. It was a humiliating kick in the knackers for the fans, who are just about at breaking point with the board and their refusal to bring in new faces.

Davies says the club can’t compete with the big boys in the division, which is exactly what the fans have been screaming all season. This is exactly the same side that was struggling under Calderwood and if it doesn’t get the additions it needs, it’s the same one that’s taking us back to League 1.

Looking through the rosiest of rose tinted specs, you can only see further heartache ahead if we don’t strengthen now. The club clearly thought that we’d have enough about us to stay in this division and if they still think that, then they really are blind. Even Billy Davies himself admits, that we aren’t good enough with the current crop of players at his disposal. Hopefully he can persuade Nigel Doughty to open his wallet and spend a few quid, because if he doesn’t we’re fastracking it back to the graveyard of League 1.
