Billy Davies said in midweek that we shouldn’t believe everything he says on the radio or in the press, so his post match comments on BBC Radio Nottingham, should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Davies will be a happy and contented man this morning, as will the Forest faithful, who are witnessing ‘a work in progress’ according to the man himself. King Billy is urging us all to keep our feet on the ground, but the 4-1 win over Donny along with reaching the dizzy heights of 4th in the table, will do little to quash the feelings of optimism and expectation, that surrounds all things NFFC at present.

A work in progress we may be, but we’re fast approaching being a very good side. Davies has improved immeasurably, the performances of Morgan and Wilson and it’s in no small part thanks to them that we’re doing so well. Add to that, the quality signings made in the summer and you can see why we have turned the corner and are very much a team on the up.

4th place in the Championship and a run of 10 games unbeaten is alot better than many of us had dared dream of, before the season got underway. Davies has transformed the club and our turnaround in fortunes is all down to him and the backroom staff he’s brought in with him.

In an effort to calm us all down and make sure we don’t get too far ahead of ourselves, he told the BBC. ‘We certainly can’t get carried away, I would advise everybody to keep their feet on the ground and keep working very hard.’ That’s all well and good and in fairness he’s quite right in what he says, but after 10 years of the most miserable times in our history, it’s hard not to get carried away. This season is along way from being finished, but it’s one we should enjoy. These are great times to be a Tricky and long may it continue.
