Rumours surfaced yesterday that former West Ham United defender Calum Davenport was in training with the Reds’ and those rumours have today been confirmed by the club on the official site.

Davenport was widely reported as being a Forest target last summer, before being involved in a stabbing incident that threatened to end his career. The club says they’re ‘taking a look at him,’ but it will also give the player a chance to prove his fitness.

Earlier this year Davenport was found not guilty of assault on his sister and was subsequently released by West Ham. He’s currently a free agent and looking for a new club.

  • Yes I agree he’d be a super addition for free. Definitely a high quality defender at this level. Good sneaky work from BD there!
