Despite the numerous signings that we’ve already completed in the transfer market, we’re poised to continue with our summer recruitment. It’s reported that Jack Colback is closing in on a permanent return to the City Ground.
As the Northern Echo reports, Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of the unfavoured Newcastle midfielder, Jack Colback. The 28-year-old only has a year remaining on his contract with the Magpies, and he’s incredibly close to sealing a return to Forest.
Here’s how Nottingham Forest supporters have reacted to the news on Twitter.
Love the Jack Colback debate on here. Very divisive. There’s already a few dm at #nffc but I think he’s better than most of them. So for me, it’s a yes, he makes us better.

I'm still not sure hedley….given his reputation and having seen him when we took him on loan…i didn't think he was all that….however trust karanka…can't moan given our activity so far….

Disagree with you on all that.
JC is a cut above on a few cuts above all the players you have mentioned

I personally do not see what people see in him. Wages totally out of synch with what he brings to the team…..thanks for contribution last season, but let’s leave it there.

Verdict:
Having already represented the club, Colback has the invaluable insight into how the club operates and the expectations that Aitor Karanka bestows on his players. The 28-year-old midfielder is vastly experienced, and he’s a tenacious player, always looking to work for the betterment of his team. He’s a sturdy tackler and an accomplished passer of the ball. He would be a solid acquisition.
