Forest striker Simon Cox is in line for a starting place for the Republic of Ireland on Friday evening, when they kick off their 2014 World Cup campaign.
The opening game of the qualifiers, sees the Irish pitted against Kazakhstan in Astana (KO: 5PM BST).
Cox joined the Reds’ during the summer from West Brom and has scored 2 goals in his five league and cup games for us. This will be his 17th cap for the Irish. He’s so far scored 3 goals at international level.
His last international appearance was on August 15, when he played the full 90 mins in a 0-0 draw away in Serbia.
