The Nottingham Post are reporting that the club could be offered Olympiakos forward Karim Ansarifard on a season-long loan deal.

The Iranian international, who scored a penalty against Portugal at the World Cup, is said to be among the list of targets that we are considering to strengthen our forward line.

Fans on Twitter are wary about signing such an unknown quantity after the experiences we’ve had with the likes Djamel Abdoun and Rafik Djebbour from the Greek club:

Some think he could be a good signing:

Ansarifard had a good season for Olympiakos last season, scoring 18 goals in 27 appearances, but you do worry why the Greek side are so willing to let the player go. He has only featured as a substitute in the Europa League so far this campaign and has been linked with clubs in the Netherlands.

The club are also still interested in Rudy Gestede and Tammy Abraham but neither deal looks to be on the cards before the loan window closes.
