Nottingham Forest could be without midfielder Kris Commons for the weekend trip to Gresty Road, after picking up what the club describes as a ‘groin problem.’

He’s the latest player to visit the treatment room following in the footsteps of Tyson and Hoskins. There’s still no news on what exactly is wrong with Hoskins, but the official site does say that Tyson could be fit for the weekend after resuming training.

Luke Chambers will be given as long as possible to recover from a dead leg he picked up in training prior to the game with Carlisle. McGugan, who also picked up a knock in the Carlisle game is expected to recover in time.

Things are very frustrating on Trentside at the moment and these injuries only emphasise how short we are in certain departments. Why on earth the club did not strengthen sufficiently in January is a mystery. Although he is yet to be declared unfit to play, this is precisely what fans predicted would happen.
