Colins’ Going For It

Forest boss Colin Calderwood has been criticised in recent weeks for being negative and too defensive. But his line up for today’s’ game against Port Vale is both positive and brave.

Midfield maestro Kris Commons finds himself relegated to the bench and on performances so far this campaign the player can have no complaints. There’s no place in the starting lineup either for the fit again club captain Ian Breckin. He also finds himself on the bench. Sammy Clingan can class himself unfortunate not to keep his place and has also to be content with being substitute. Possibly as a result of tiredness from last weeks internationals, but Agogo who travelled much further retains his place.

The major news concerns new signing Chris Cohen, as he gets a place in the starting eleven to make his Forest debut. Striker Nathan Tyson makes the side in a very attack minded frontline. Tyson will play a wide role as he did so effectively against Charlton in the FA Cup last year. Hopefully to provide the ammunition for Holt and Agogo up front.

Calderwood has made some bold changes for this game and is obviously anxious to get the points. Could this be the day when Forests’ season finally kicks off?

Team:

Smith, Chambers, Morgan, Wilson, Bennett, Perch, Lennon(c), Cohen, Tyson, Holt, Agogo.

Subs. Roberts, Breckin, Clingan, Commons, Dobie.
