Sammy Clingan has finally put pen to paper on a two and a half year contract. The former Wolves midfielder becomes Megsons third transfer window signing after completing his loan spell at Chesterfield and finalising his departure from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Clingan has joined for what Forest are calling a nominal fee and has signed in plenty of time for Friday nights home clash with promotion rivals Barnsley.

Clingan is delighted to have joined Forest and explained the delay in joining the City Ground staff ‘I was in the last year of my contract with Wolves and wanted to establish what their plans for me were’ Clingan then added ‘I may have left a Championship club but i don’t regard this as a step down. Its a massive career move for me’

Will Clingan be the last signing of the transfer window or should Megson continue to add to his squad? Share your views on this and all things Forest on our Forum
