Cautious Approach For Calderwood

Last seasons’ unsuccessful playoff campaign was hampered by injuries to strikers Agogo and Tyson, but manager Colin Calderwood says he’s determined the same wont happen again.

In an effort to have the strongest squad available he has told the Nottingham Evening Post that he may rest key players this time round.

‘You want your full artillery available when you go into the play-offs. You want your bench to be as strong as possible. We will not have anybody train with any kind of injury, because we do not want to risk making anything worse. We have one or two who might think their enthusiasm and eagerness to play might override any problems they might have. But I might have to cap that and say that I am making a decision in their best interests and the best interests of the club.’

Earlier this week Forest recalled keeper Dale Roberts back from his loan spell at Rushden and Diamonds, which may give credence to what he plans to do. Personally, I’d like us to go into the playoffs with a decent run of form under our belts and playing with the best players available.
