Forest get back to League 1 business on Wednesday evening with the long haul to Cumbria, where they take on Carlisle United.
It’s business as usual now the shenanigans of the FA Cup are out of the way. This is yet another vital game for Forest and three points may be necessary just to stay in contention. Carlisle have slipped somewhat in recent weeks and lie in tenth place, having taken only one point from their previous three League games.
The Reds will hopefully be boosted by the news of (at least) the two new signings of Prutton and Chambers, although neither are eligible to play.
Although Forest have two games in hand over the teams also in the race for automatic promotion, there is no doubt (and obvious) they would prefer the points on the board. Three points at Carlisle would give the side a timely lift after the drubbing at Stamford Bridge.
Carlisle United Team News:
The Cumbrians have several injury worries ahead of the match. Paul Murray, Chris Lumsden and Jeff Smith, are all doubts.
Player to watch: Karl Hawley
Karl Hawley led The Reds defence a merry dance at the City Ground earlier in the season. The hit-man has found the net ten times this season.
Nottingham Forest Team News:
Forest have no fresh concerns ahead of the clash. John Thompson is available after being cup tied for the FA Cup game and Sammy Clingan will be able to start. Kris Commons resumed training again today, but will not be available.
Player to watch: Grant Holt
Grant Holt will be looking to avenge his penalty miss in the previous game with the two sides. Carlisle are his hometown club, so he will be eager to impress.
