The Mirror are reporting that Bournemouth are looking to offload Tyrone Mings, and we are the left back’s most likely destination.
The 25-year-old spent most of last season on the treatment table with a back injury, and it is believed that the Cherries are prepared to offload the defender to finance a £5m move for Leganes full-back Diego Rico.
Fans on Twitter reacted positively to us being linked with the former Ipswich player:
Can’t see this one. He was quality at LB for Ipswich

If we are going risk paying 6mil+ on Mings then I think it’s time the big man took the credit card off Karanka #NFFC

Verdict:
Currently, the link is not a strong one. It was only mentioned in passing on the Mirror’s Live Update feed yesterday. Considering we have already recruited Jack Robinson this summer, it’s unlikely we would go after another left back.
At 6ft 5 tall, Mings can play centre-back as well, but the vast majority of his first-team experience is as a fullback on the left-hand side of defence. Aitor Karanka does want another full-back but that will most likely be for the other flank, with Sam Byram having been heavily linked in recent weeks.
