I think it’s fair to say only those with a Stoke City outlook on life would suggest that Nottingham Forest didn’t do enough to take all three points last Saturday.

As it was, we went into the November international break with only a point to show for our efforts in the Championship clash, but with the visitors to the City Ground showing improvements in recent weeks, it was always going to be a tough game.

The main difference, of course, was England goalkeeper Jack Butland who thwarted our best efforts at him.

Taking to social media after the match, Joe Lolley’s rise to a clear fan favourite continued as he spoke about his disappointment at not taking maximum points from the tie, and in admitting he didn’t have the best of starts to the game, he won more praise for his honesty.

We remain in the hunt for the Play-Off spots though and come the end of the season given the quality Stoke boast in areas of their squad, I think hindsight will have made this one a good point.
