Forest manager Colin Calderwood says he will keep faith with the side that won promotion and give them every chance to prove themselves in the Championship.

He told the official site that he wanted to maintain the team spirit that had been built up last season. ‘The development of teams like Reading is a great example to us. They didn’t change too much as they went up. Look at Bristol City and the impact that they have made this season. More or less the backbone of the side has stayed the same. They only made 1 or 2 additions, but many times they reverted back to the tried and tested formula that made them successful.’

Calderwood admits that there will be departures, but those that left would be players that wanted to. It’s well know that Agogo’s agent is actively seeking a move for his man on the back of his ACON performances and Grant Holt looks to have played his last game in a Red shirt. His comments could also be read as preparing fans for what seems an unthinkable move to the Sheep by Kris Commons.

There’s plenty of speculation on who is coming through the City Ground doors, but nothing is definite yet. Earnshaw may be the hottest rumour doing the rounds on the forums, but he is yet to sign. Whittingham, Bell at Luton and even the unrealistic target of James Beattie are still being mentioned, but as usual the club is being tight lipped on who is coming in.
