Calderwood On ‘Great Game’

Rotherham manager Alan Knill was full of praise for striker Will Hoskins after his goal in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest extended their unbeaten league run to six games.

Hoskins opened the scoring in the 59th minute when he controlled a long ball on his chest and lashed the ball home from the edge of the area but Forest striker Nathan Tyson rescued the League One leaders with an 88th-minute strike.

Knill said: ”All Will’s goals are great goals.

‘He has great technique and put him in front of goal and he usually hits the target. He is looking like the player we all expected him to be.

‘We came back well after our disappointing cup performance last week. I am disappointed we did not win but absolutely delighted by our performance.

‘Forest are a big strong aggressive team but we matched them. I do not think they will have a harder game all season.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood admitted they ‘got out of jail’ with their late equaliser from Tyson.

Rotherham dominated for long periods but Forest rallied late on to show just why they remain favourites for promotion.

‘It was a great game of football,’ Calderwood said. ‘We found ourselves behind away from home for the first time this season although I would have felt cruelly done by if we had lost.

‘We did some good things, but credit to Rotherham they are a decent side and would not be in the position they are had they not had 10 points deducted.’
