Colin Calderwood says he will remain flexible over his Forest strike partnership, as he prepares to make changes to his front-line for the visit of Scunthorpe on Saturday.

The Reds boss says he has not decided on a preferred front-two this season – and that all his strikers can expect to play a part.

With Junior Agogo joining up with the Ghana squad in the Far East, Jack Lester or Neil Harris are likely to partner Grant Holt against the Iron on live television.

And Calderwood says he is happy to make changes throughout the season.

‘In training some of them combine quite well,’ he said. ‘Then you look at them and think ‘they could make a perfect pair.’.

‘But it changes every week.

‘Players dictate who play, occasionally a manager will change it, just to add a little freshness, as much as anything else.

‘There tends to be a natural change just through injury and things like that.’

Calderwood says a key influence in the selection process is a winning performance. On that basis, Agogo would perhaps have been an automatic selection, after firing his first goal for the club in the 3-1 win over Swansea last weekend.

But, as he has flown out for Ghana’s games against South Korea and Japan, he will be unavailable.

This will give either Jack Lester – who impressed as a substitute last weekend – or Neil Harris a chance.

‘Performances count, as do winning teams,’ said Calderwood.

‘That is a good stat you always go back to – who played in a winning team.’
