With three wins and a draw from the four pre season games to date, Forest boss Colin Calderwood is rightly chuffed with the way things are shaping up.

Forest came through their toughest test to date admirably, with a 1-1 draw at home to Everton. Admittedly the three previous games were against lesser opposition and they were games the Reds’ were expected to win, but the manner of the performances and individual displays are what matter most at this stage of the season.

Speaking to the official site, Calderwood said. ‘We’re half way through our pre season preparations and I think we can see we have the makings of a good unit. Looking at the way the new players settled in, there was a nice feeling about the way things developed and we have got to build on that in the remainder of our pre season games and get us ready for August 10.’

August 10 will be the real test for us, but things do seem to be shaping up better than recent pre seasons. Forest travel to Curzon Ashton on Monday and then face Sunderland on Wednesday, live on Setanta Sports TV. The final warm up game is on Saturday, when we visit neighbours Notts County at Meadow Lane.
